Lowell Lee Andrews was an American mass murderer who gained notoriety for killing his family members on November 28, 1958, in Wichita, Kansas. Andrews, who was only 16 years old at the time, used a rifle to shoot and kill his parents, brother, and sister. He then staged the crime scene to make it look like a robbery had taken place.
Andrews was quickly arrested and confessed to the murders, claiming that he was motivated by his desire to inherit his family's wealth. He was tried and convicted of the murders in 1959 and ultimately sentenced to life in prison. Andrews was released on parole in 1974 but died six years later in a car accident.
The case of Lowell Lee Andrews has been the subject of numerous books, documentaries, and television programs, as it remains one of the most shocking and tragic mass murders in American history.
